    May 10, 2008: New York, New York (Day 1)

    This one’s not a road trip – we were making this just a 3-day weekend so Amber and I flew to NYC. We had an early morning flight from Indianapolis, and arrived at the airport around 6. As we were walking to our gate, I caught sight of the sun rising over downtown Indianapolis.     Back again visiting family in Connecticut for Amber’s spring break…and of course, another visit to New York!  Yet again, the weather is cold and dreary (not a surprise…).     March 2004: New York, NY

    We’re back visiting our family in Connecticut during Amber’s spring break, so I decided to take Amber and her friend Meaghan to New York City for two days. It was cold and dreary, but no precipitation the first day. We first had lunch at Junior’s in Brooklyn, where we had way too much food – but what we had was great. Of course, I washed it down with a chocolate egg cream (the real deal – made with Fox’s U-Bet syrup, thank you very much!).     Being originally from Connecticut, trips to NYC were something I did frequently since childhood. After I moved to Illinois last year, I knew I would not get back to NYC very much. When I visited my family in Connecticut this first Christmas after moving to the midwest, I knew I had to go to New York!
