Latitude Margaritaville Model Homes: Inspiration and Possibilities
One favorite way to pass the time at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head —something Alan introduced us to—is visiting the model homes in the model home park.
On our first visit to one of the most popular 55 and better communities in South Carolina in October 2023, it sparked our initial thoughts about the possibility of moving. While that wasn’t in the cards for us at the time, we were motivated to make a few modifications to our central Indiana home, including upgrading the kitchen and bath flooring to tile.
By March 2024, we did decide to sell our home and move to southern Indiana near Louisville—more on that in a later post. Our experience exploring the model homes, layouts, and options helped guide decisions in our new home build. There’s a lot of inspiration to be found walking through those homes.
Of course, we returned to the models several times during our next three visits—in April, June, and November 2025.
One step into one of the 13 model homes at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head, and you quickly understand the attraction for the thousands of “55 and better” residents who live here.
Each model is decorated with touches of the Margaritaville lifestyle, embracing a carefree attitude. A handful of homes even feature pools in the rear lanai, which really sparks the imagination of what your own version of paradise could look like. And throughout the model home community, Jimmy Buffett tunes are piped in, perfectly capturing the overall feel of life at Latitude Margaritaville.
Every visit, we tour the homes and come away inspired—both for practical ideas we can bring into our own home (decor, design, finishes) and for the bigger dream of what life there could be like. Even if owning a home there never comes to fruition, we know we could still experience it by renting for a month—and of course, through visits with our friends Alan and Carie.
